How to use the SEER Signal Tool
It is recommended to have the SEER unit registered to your account when accessing the Signal Tool.
For more information on registering a SEER device see the tutorial.
There are two different Signal Tools:
- Control Module Signal Tool – Used to determine RF signal quality
- Keytag Signal Tool – Used to determine LF signal quality (Antennas)
Control Module Signal Tool
Put the SEER Control Module into Update Mode
- Turn Ignition On
- Within 2 Seconds, start pressing the programming button
- Press the button 3 times rapidly. Each time you will hear the unit beep
- (Older units will not beep and use a confirmation LED)
- A long beep will sound to confirm SEER has entered Update Mode
Open the SEER Assistant app for Android or iOS
- Enter your credentials and press Sign In
- Select Control Module ECU from the Devices list
- Select ‘Signal Tool’

Keytag Signal Tool
Open the SEER Assistant app for Android or iOS – No Account
- Press No Account
- Make sure location services are turned ON
- Select the SEER Tag from the Devices list
- Select ‘Signal Tool’
Put the SEER Keytag into Update Mode
- Open the Keytag battery cover
- Remove the battery
- Wait 10 seconds
- Reinsert battery
When the battery is first inserted, the Keytag will appear in the Devices list for 2 minutes
Select the Keytag
- Select the Keytag from the Devices list
- Press “Signal Tool”
- Signal quality for each antenna is displayed (RSSI)
- Press “End Session” to resume normal operation
