AL6-K01 Door Trigger Input

The Orange wire on the harness is used to activate “Door Trigger” input of the AL6-K01 unit.
When activated, AL6-K01 will override the last color selected and change to white light.

⚠️ IF YOU HAVE GRADUALLY DIMMING FACTORY INTERIOR LIGHTS, THIS INPUT MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU

Step 1: Locate the door status wire in the car.
VAIS Technology does not provide specific vehicle wiring information. If you are not comfortable with locating the status wire or do not want to use “Door Trigger” you can connect the Orange wire to Ground.

Step 2: Test the status wire for polarity.

Cars with (12V) Positive Door Status

If the door status wire is positive when the door is open, you can connect the Orange wire directly.

Cars with (GND) Negative Door Status

Cars with an Open Door Status

Step 3: Make the connection.

✅ Connect to Orange Wire – You can connect the Orange Door Trigger wire directly to the status wire in the vehicle.

☑️ Use Resistor (See Below) – Resistor may be required for EACH Door Trigger.
Before you start, measure the Resistance at the door trigger wire with door open and closed.

Scenario 1
Door Open – Below 100Ω
Door Closed – Over 100kΩ
Use 22kΩ Resistor (Shown Below)

Scenario 2
Door Open – Below100Ω
Door Closed – 20kΩ – 100kΩ
Use 10kΩ Resistor (Shown Below)

Scenario 3 – (Subaru)
Door Open – Below 100Ω
Door Closed – 10kΩ – 20kΩ
Use 10kΩ & 2kΩ Resistors (Shown Below)

⚠️Warning: If you have a Positive status wire in the car but it measure between 3V-9V ❌ DO NOT USE THIS SIGNAL!

Step 4: Change Polarity in the App
